Our team

Weft Strategy is the culmination of our years of being invited by clients to address the disconnect between what leaders intend and what teams know in their organisations.

Drop us a note at hello@weftstrategy.com if you'd like to know more about how we can help you share your strategy.

Dreu Harrison

Principal & Choices Lead

Before embarking on a strategic consulting career, Dreu completed his doctoral research at the University of Sydney, proposing that design be revalued as a liberal art of technology.

He then worked as a business writer, designer, and educator in a leading design consultancy, Second Road, and leading design agency, Frost*collective. Facilitating projects at these firms allowed Dreu to explore the potential of design between problem solving and art, laying the foundation for the launch of Weft with James.

Dreu is committed to helping clients integrate their strategies so that their organisations become more responsive. Dreu is also a Postgraduate Lecturer in Design for the UTS Faculty of Design and Society.

James de Vries

Principal & Stories Lead

Before embarking on a strategic consulting career, James' work spanned design and strategic thinking as the first ever Creative Director at Harvard Business Review, where he built a multi-faceted design team and helped embed design further into the publication's content than ever before.

He had embarked on this journey 20 years ago as founder de Luxe & Associates, a studio that specialised in the major creation and re-design of magazines, journals, and news products around the globe. Working up close with business leaders and publishers helped him to lean-in to the link between intent, strategy, story, and the artefacts that embody that strategy.

James is an experienced leader and practitioner, committed to helping organisations devise, refine, and embody their strategies. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Design and a Faculty Advisory Board member for the UTS Faculty of Design and Society.
